Here in Cranny NS we have been involved in the Farm Safe Schools Programme for 2022. This is an initiative developed and promoted by Agri Aware, AgriKids and the Irish Farmers Association (IFA) to “engage, educate and empower Irish children to become farm safety ambassadors and in doing so help create a safer, brighter future on Irish farms.”

This week we were awarded our Certificate of Accreditation and Farm Safe Star School status.

The children and their teachers worked on three farm safety modules.

Module 1:  Farmer, farmyard and field safety

Module 2:  Animal safety and care

Module 3:  Tractor and machinery safety
