Autumn Nature Studies

| Comment 0

All our students have been busy learning about autumn over the past number of weeks.

The children went on a nature walk with Mrs. Cunningham.  The children identified different types of trees, leaves, seeds, berries and flowers.

The children collected samples and brought them back to their classrooms.

The Junior Room displayed and labelled what they found on their trip.  During Aistear, they made rubbings of the leaves using autumn colours and practiced their new vocabulary by finding, identifying and describing some of the items in the sand pit.

The Senior Room also labelled and displayed their samples.  They then used the berries they collected to create natural dyes for an art project.
